This one I almost didn't want to put up on the website -- I'd love to keep it all for myself. :-)
The yarn is called Alpacacita, this beauty is 70% Baby Alpaca and 30% Cultivated Silk. It feels really special -- soft and with a special sheen.
Each skein is a generous 800 yards to each 4.3 ounces -- a great amount for a large number of delightful shawl designs.
The colorway here is Looking Glass and it is an almost-solid tone-on-tone in a most intriguing side of green. I am trying to find a word to describe the color -- a very pale fern green, with a suggestion of asparagus.
Whatever name we give it, it is beautifully delicate rendition of extremely light to slightly darker shades of green with very occasional surprise highlights of pale slate blue.
I see it as a field of ferns on a sunny day.
I keep thinking of it with the Kalypso shawl --it would have a wonderful look.
I love it.
