This is a lovely design by Susanna IC which she had originally designed a few years ago around a delicious fingering weight cashmere.

Well, fast forward and we haven't been able to find that delicious yarn anymore at what I consider a reasonable price, so I've been hunting around a bit.

And I think I have a perfect substitute. So here we present a very different kit that will make this most lovely beaded shawlette.

First, read on about the design itself: Aurita!

Here is what Susanna writes:

"Aurita is inspired by the luminous greens of willow trees in early spring, their new leaves glistening in the sun after a sudden shower...

"Aurita is knitted in one piece, side-to-side, out of a single indulgent skein of pure cashmere. Aurita's lace border features a traditional Estonian stitch, the exquisite Lily of the Valley.

"Beads are added to the border enhancing the graceful lines of the lace stitches, adding extra drape and interest to the project.

"The shawl can be worn loosely like a long scarf or it can be wrapped closer around the neck for extra warmth. Elegant and practical, Aurita will add a brilliant touch of color to any wardrobe. "

I think it is just lovely.

The yarn is called Llama Lace Melange and is a slightly tweeded solid color yarn made up of 100% Baby Llama with approximately 420 yards per 100g.

It is simply delicious -- super soft and wonderful to put against your skein.

We have two colors to choose from:

1. Caribbean Sea is a lovely teal-green-ish sea foam. Marvelous!

2. Red Plums is just what it sounds like, a delicious red-violet mirroring ripe red plums. Yum!

Each kit will include one skein of the colorway of your choice.

Plus! Each kit will include more than the needed 198 size 6/0 beads. They might contrast (perhaps Silver Lined Crystal AB for foam on the Caribbean Sea?) or blend (the Silver Lined Smoky Amethyst AB comes immediately to mind for the Red Plum). There are lots of possibilities. If you have a preference tell me; otherwise I'll choose for you.

The last photo on this page is of this pattern knit by Joss (and used with his permission) in a very different yarn than Susanna used. We include it to give your imagination more fodder and to show how lovely and simple this design is -- can't you just picture how lovely these will make up?

Note also that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. I know some knitters prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Susanna via her Ravelry web page. Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that. We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you so I do it right before I ship your kit).

Just make sure that both drop-down menus are set as you would like before you check out.

This is a real beauty.
