Ah...what is Bead Soup, you ask?
Bead Soup started out as a combination of everything and anything.
Bead Soup initially was the result of throwing into a jar all the beads which fall off my desk as I am putting together orders, or off my work table when I am putting together kits. Bead Soup was the result of finding beads hiding in the carpet when I was talking to someone on the phone. Bead Soup were the beads I have left over after a project that I just didn't feel like sorting out.
It has since evolved. We have created some beautiful mixes of beads (on purpose) that highlight and enhance each other.
In Bead Soup (as contrasted with Bead Stew) the beads tend to be smaller -- there are some size 11/0, 8/0s both round and triangular, 6/0s, 5/0 triangles and rounds, megatamas, drop beads of all sizes, leaves, and the like. Bead Stew generally speaking is all of those with more emphasis on the larger ones, and also usually the addition of more dramatic beads, sometimes fire polish crystals, sometimes larger daggers, sometimes intriguing ones that we just happened upon.

The original Bead Soup has long since been sold out. The Random mix offered here doesn't look much like the photo here -- it has definitely changed. If you would like to just play with some very interesting beads, then that is the option on the drop-down menu to choose. Some of the beads in this Random mix are rather large and some are very striking -- these are the beads I have dropped and then found again to dump into the Bead Soup box -- they can be quite unique and special. But totally random.
There are two other options we offer:
We can create some Bead Soup for you in a general color family that you specify. So if, for instance, you would like something in the mostly-blue family or the mainly-reds-and-burgundies or the like, let us know in the Comments section on the order form. But make sure to choose that Unique: Customized Kit option from the drop-down menu.
Alternatively, you can choose the Custom Bead Stew Mix option on the drop-down menu. That allows you to get any of the mixes which we use in our Bead Stew bracelets. It also allows you to select as personal color mix [remember to let us know what you want!] that will include larger beads, such as Fire Polish Crystals, large daggers, small daggers and tear drops, and any of the rather unique beads which we come across if they would work with what you want.
So that is three possibilities -- make sure to choose what you want and make sure to tell us any details that matter to you.
The mix will come in a container holding roughly 35 grams of beads.
