The sock cuffs and wristlets are knitted sideways in beaded garter stitch. The remainder of socks is knitted in the round.

You can pick virtually any of our Fingering weight yarn and size 8/0 seed beads or triangles and make a glorious creation in a very short time.
I made a pair for my 96 year old mother-in-law and she loves them -- finally something that actually keeps her hands warm (by warming up her wrists -- a great idea which has been in use in Norway for centuries).
Size 1 US/2.25 mm needles suggested.
The wristlets require only 60 yards at their largest size; the socks take up to 400 yards for the largest. Email us if you would like data on the smaller sizes.
and if you would like suggestions as to beads to go with the fingering weight yarn we carry, just email me. But honestly, if you choose a solid color yarn, just about any bead will work well. This is a very simple design.
And if you would like to go with a handpainted yarn, then any of the brighter beads will look great -- the silver lined crystals or silver lined color beads, as well as a number of the color lined crystals.
