Susanna IC has created especially for us a most beautiful pattern, a simple piece that is easy enough for a beginner lace knitter and quick enough to be a great last-minute gift.
She writes:
"An indulgent skein of pure cashmere, a scattering of beautiful beads… Ria is a perfect jewel of a project to showcase a single skein of this amazing yarn. An infinity cowl, Ria can be worn loosely as a scarf or it can be doubled for closer fit and extra warmth during cold days.
"Ria is a great first lace project because the lace pattern consists of very basic stitches and is easily memorized. In addition, this project can be completed in a few hours, which makes it a wonderful little last minute gift."
(Well, I am not sure that her "few hours" is the same as my "few hours" but quick-fast-easy are sometimes very enticing adjectives to have in choosing a project, especially one that looks as lovely as this one!)
We had gotten in some great new colors of Pura Bella's 100% Cashmere and Susanna picked a couple of colors to play with. This is the result! Big smiles over here.
The colorway she used for this one is called Aegean Blue and it is basically a rich turquoise. With it she used 228 of our 6/0 beads, the original here being Blue Lined Aqua AB. The beads are all added via the crochet hook method, using an extremely thin hook. You'll need one that is 0.75mm or thinner (not included in the kit, but available on our "Needles and Hooks" section).

This kit will include just about everything you need to make this lovely cowl as you see it here. The beads may very well be slightly different -- specific colorways go in and out of stock -- but they will look lovely with the yarn.
