I love this yarn.
It is a fingering weight from Mountain Colors, soft, warm, and washable!
Bearfoot is made up of 60 % Superwash Wool, 25 % Mohair, 15 % Nylon -- each 100 gram skein has a delicious 400 yards.
This yarn is perfect for socks -- of course -- and it is marvelous for any other next-to-skin wear. The mohair is not fuzzy but adds a wonderful luster and a delightful feel. And I was once told by Lucy Neatby that mohair is nature's nylon -- in other words it adds strength to the piece as well as beauty.
This colorway is Red Willow, and prominently features my favorite color (today at least): red. But what else? There is also burgundy, maroon, and dark red-orange. And a very dark hue which looks to me like a charcoal-almost-black but the Mountain Colors website calls deep blue. So let's compromise and call it midnight.
Wow. I like this one.
