Stunning!
These are simply breathtakingly beautiful.
I may tend to repeat what I said on the page with the Dichroic Glass Pendants (follow link below to see these) -- but really, I must tell you about these.
Dichroic glass is glass containing multiple micro-layers of metal oxides which give the glass special optical properties. Apparently, multiple ultra-thin layers of different metal oxides (gold, silver, titanium, chromium, aluminum, zirconium, magnesium, silicon) are vaporized by an electron beam in a vacuum chamber.
The main characteristic of dichroic glass is that it has a transmitted color and a completely different reflected color, as certain wavelengths of light either pass through or are reflected. This causes an array of color to be displayed. The colors shift depending on the angle of view.
Due to variations in the firing process, individual results can never be exactly predicted, so each piece of fused dichroic glass is unique.
These are each a set of three glass pieces, separated by (in the case of the Autumn one) some special lampworked beads (handmade again) or (on the Winter one) silver pieces.
The Winter one has a silver chain and the Autumn has a leather cord with clasp.
They are unique and just so striking.
