We were offered a marvelous chance to take advantage of the designing acumen of Michelle of The Fickle Knitter and the gorgeous yarns as dyed by Roxanne of Zen Yarn Garden. The result is this lovely Dragon Fruit One Skein Shawl.
All that is needed is one skein of Zen Yarn Garden’s Serenity Silk + light fingering weight yarn.
The original was knit in the colorway Roxanne named Dragonfruit plus 186 size 6/0 Metallic Gold Iris beads.
And that is exactly what we offer in this kit!
This is a traditional triangular shawl that is knit from the neck to the border, which is knit-on. The finished size of the original was 52 inches wide by 22 inches long after blocking.
The pattern comes with written instructions and charts and has been professionally tech edited and test knit for accuracy.
So each kit contains one 100 gram ball of Zen Yarn Garden Dragon Fruit Serenity Silk + (75% Superwash Merino, 15% Cashmere, 10% Silk. 500 yards/ 457 meters) plus 20 grams of the very brilliant Metallic Gold Iris beads and a hard copy of the pattern. By the way, the total yardage used by test knitters was closer to 330 yards/ 303 meters, so you will have plenty.
This is a great pattern for those who are new to lace knitting and to adding beads. And beautiful enough (and interesting enough as well) for those more experienced.
