We have long wished we could get galvanized beads, which have a finish which generally speaking make them look like the true metal and really catch the light to stand out on yarn. Up to now, we've avoided them as the finish tended to flake off if abraded or washed. However, Miyuki (and Toho also, but these beads are Miyuki) has recently come out with a finish they call Duracoat. And what this basically means is that this galvanization will stay looking lovely.
These are the Duracoat Galvanized Eggplant in size 8/0. They are lovely.
We highly recommend these for use in the Nouveau Beaded Capelet, particularly with yarns of the purple family. I am looking at them with the Xie in both Lilac and Red Violet as well as the Yet colorways of Light Clematis and Betony.
Packaged in containers holding roughly 20 grams; with 40 beads per gram that is about 800 beads in each.
