Getting new patterns from Jackie E-S is a delight -- and when the design is beaded as well, we are over the moon!
Flames of Fall is a lovely shawl, designed using 585 yards (535m) of fingering weight yarn and 462 size 6/0 beads.
Here is how Jackie describes it:
Delight yourself with the color and texture of Flames and Fall. Beads and flames of lace endue a soft glow of warmth in this pleasingly reversible stole.
The sparkle of beads highlight boldly patterned sculptured flame motifs surrounded by a textured border reminiscent of embers.
The stole is knitted in two pieces, then joined at the middle by an easy method that does not require grafting. The resulting seam is nearly invisible to all but the most discerning eye.
Finished Size 16" by 80" blocked outer measurements
Knitting Needles Size US 6 (4 mm) suggested
Gauge Approx 19 stitches = 4" over combination of border and main stitch patterns after blocking under tension
The shawl in the photos you see here was knit using Crystal Palace Sausalito, color # 8451 Harvest and Miyuki beads color #273 Light Yellow Lined Crystal AB 430.
It strikes me that Ella Rae's beautiful Orange Fire would make a stunning piece -- and we have some great beads to go with that too.
In fact, we are offering a special bead gift to anyone purchasing enough yarn to make this lovely shawl at the same time as the pattern. Let me choose the bead color to work with your yarn and I'll make sure you have more than enough to make a most stunning piece.
This one is a real keeper.
