Sometimes the perfect yarn and perfect colorway just match up with the perfect pattern.
I can't conceive of bettering this one.
Melissa Lemmons originally created this for the Yarnie's Sock Club to combat pooling in variegated sock yarn. Here she uses yarn overs to elongate the slip stitches so that they float on top of the rest of the sock.
The result is stunning.
She used Ella Rae Lace Merino, a marvelous 100% superwash merino fingering weight yarn with 460 yards per skein.
And as serendipity would have it, we have just gotten in a colorway of Ella Rae which looks to me to be exactly the same as the one she used in these photos of the original.
The yarn has vibrant lime green, teal, and maroon as the main colors. Brilliant and striking.
And stunning in this sock pattern!
So this kit will include the pattern (hard copy) plus one skein of this wonderful yarn.
And we promise hours of delight in knitting it and much joy in the wearing as well.
