This web page is presented to tell you about our special colorways that we have developed with the fantastic help of the dyers of The Unique Sheep.
We have a number more that are in the works -- great fun! And any and all can be dyed specially for you in the yarn and the yardage that works best for your project.
The best place to go to see these is the Flickr site for our Earth Faire Signature Colors that Kelly and Laura set up for us -- as they finish dyeing a set, they usually put it up so its look is saved.
We have worked with Kelly and Laura of The Unique Sheep to develop certain special colorways that are now exclusive to us at Earth Faire. Some are Gradiance colorways and some are "single skein" ones where all the colors are varied within one skein. They are all unique to us and we are really pleased to be able to offer them.
They sell out fast when we get them in and we set up this web page to show the majority of what is possible. If you would like to see some other colors -- just email me. We can email other photos and also talk about setting you up with a special order or if we expect them in soon. Special orders usually take about two to three weeks, depending on how busy Kelly and Laura are.
These colorways can be dyed in any of the yarn bases offered by The Unique Sheep.
The first photo on this page shows Big Sur Twilight as a gradiance and knit into a most lovely shawl.
Click on that and you will see our the colorway as a set of skeins. This shows you how the one becomes the other.
We have some of the other colorways shown in the photos below that one. The second photo is of Snow Glint (shown as a single skein colorway though it can also be dyed in a gradiance). Click on that and you'll see Impressionist Sunrise, based on Claude Monet's famous painting.
The next photo shows Dragon Dawn (a gradiance colorway). Click on that and you will see Path to the Castle (always dyed as a gradiance).
Next is Fox & Geese, done as a gradiance, though it is also possible to get it as a single skein. Click on that and you will see Aurora Borealis, as a single skein colorway. That one looks stunning as a gradiance -- email if you'd like to see a photo.
Next is Rock Candy Mountain dyed as a gradiance in Ling. Click on that and you'll see Neptune's Garden gradiance.
Dragon Fire is next -- possible as a gradiance (shown) or as a single skein. Click on that and you'll see Pixie Dust (gradiance only).
Dragon Scales gradiance is shown next (can be done as a single skein). Click on that and you'll see Changing Skies (regular single skeins).
A wonderful array of colors with the sky the limit! Use your imagination or email me for some suggestions. This is a great way to play.
