This is a new chart-only version of this beauty from the needles of Sharon Dreifuss (She-Knits).

Gwen's Garden is a shawl with a gentle curve to it. I think that it is what is called a crescent shape as compared to a triangle with a point at the end -- a shape I much prefer personally and find more flattering in general. Done with only 400 yards more or less of fingering weight yarn, the design has beads added (via the crochet-hook method) to make twenty-four lovely flower motifs.

Such a marvelous idea!

This pattern has eight pages of very clear directions, including a link to instructional videos, and five pages of easy-to-read charts. The only difference between this and the other Gwen's Garden pattern is that this one is a bit streamlined and offers charts instead of written instructions.

MATERIALS:

~ 400 yds fingering weight yarn.

~ 1 pair U.S.#4 needles (or needle size to get gauge desired)

~ size 6/0 seed beads to make 24 flower motifs as follows; 240 purple, 216 green, 24 yellow -

~ 7 stitch markers

Gauge – 7 sts and 8 rows = 1” x 1” in stockinette stitch BLOCKED with fingering yarn on U.S. #4 needle. Exact gauge is not crucial however it is important to be relatively close in the stitches per inch.
