Welcome

We have just gotten in a few wonderful designs by Andrea, of Bad Cat Designs, in kits with the scrumptuous yarns of Jade Sapphire.

So far we have two additional kits up on the site. Take a look at the Silk Romance Capelet --- a return of an old favorite. And Andrea's Blue Ribbon Sampler Stole is an absolute treasure!

We are so happy to be able to offer these. And stay tuned -- there is another amazing piece yet to be posted. Supplies are very limited though, so be aware that what is here today might not be here tomorrow.

We are so pleased to introduce our new Long Magatamas -- a new 4x7 mm size with the characteristic off-center hole. This is a most delightful bead -- and should look superb as an edging. The data we have is that each is 12 per gram, 0.125 gram per bead -- so they are not even heavier than the 4mm ones we are more used to.

We are starting out with eight colors in these, a wonderful addition to our knitting creations. And I want to apologize for any confusion with the names of these. Taken from a Japanese word that means something like "seed shaped like a mango", when we first saw these and fell in love, the spelling was mEgatamas. Since then it seems the standard spelling in English has veered strongly to mAgatama. And that is how most people now look for them. We are going to be gradually switching over and using both spellings for a while -- just so you know. And as Shakespeare said, "A rose by any other name...", these are lovely however they are spelled.

The new Knitty.com issue is up and it is chock full of things that really sing to us. And for two of them, we went ahead and sight-unseen ordered all the "ingredients."

Today I saw the designs and I am blown away!

The Knitty.com features Rani, an absolutely gorgeous design for making stunning beaded cuffs. An easy knit that looks simply amazing. And we have the beads and the yarn to make these beauties. Here is a kit for you to make Rani, fit for a Queen.

And we are starting to put up some other great colors from Shibui in the same basic yarn so you can pick and choose the look you would like for your cuffs. Each pair requires only one skein of Shibui sock yarn plus one container of 8/0 beads. We think in particular that the Bark and the Peacock would look pretty amazing, yes?

Also in this issue, is Entomology, a gorgeous beaded wrap, designed by Laura Nelkin. We have the kits, specially put together so you can make these breath-taking creations exactly as Laura envisioned them.

Wow.

Jojo has come up with some amazingly wonderful designs recently. This is one of our very favorites -- the fun of modular knitting combined with the glorious colors of Rhythm light worsted weight yarn. We had to get these -- and right now we have a great selection of colorways!

We just set up a kit for another wondrous Rosemary Hill design, this time from a Knitty.com issue of a couple of year ago --- here she created a lovely and very unique bracelet, which she called Bauble. We are able to offer everything you need for your very own version of Bauble , this most lovely piece.
And don't forget that right now we still have set up a kit for Rosemary's Bijouterie earrings, that were in Knitty's Winter '08 issue. All the components are currently in stock. And we have some lovely 3mm and 4mm beads and crystals that will look wonderful with this. We hope you have a wonderful time picking them out.
