Oh my!
We are in for such a treat this summer!
Fantastical designer Jane Thornley has come up with a new idea. Every year she does a workshop in Nova Scotia for those lucky enough to be able to attend called Knit a Beach. And this year we are all invited along!
I am going to let Jane tell you herself:
"The water’s warm so let’s knit a beach! If you can dream it, you can knit it. Learn how to knit with an extensive guide rather than a just standard pattern with this evocative knitting workshop. 41 pages of diagrams, photos, instructions, ideas, tips and inspiration plus a guide to knit this adaptable, beachy little vest. Combined with the knitalong launching on June 18th, and you'll have all you need to knit your own private beach.
"This is the same project we'll be working on at the real Knit A Beach retreat here in Nova Scotia this August but for those of you that can't join me in the flesh, here's a virtual excursion.
"The Knitalong will be running both in Ravelry and on my knitalong site here (follow the link below).
"Experience combining simple stitches to create textures that evoke the blue sea frothed with ocean latte and sand hues of a summer beach.
"Create a vest/tabard design so gorgeous you won’t want to knit just one. Make yours either fitted or loose and easy or apply the techniques used to another pattern maybe even your own design.
"Come on – dive in!
"On June 18th, a beach-a-long starts."
What we are offering on this webpage is a printed copy of Jane's "virtual evocative knitting workshop in a booklet! There are 41 pages of tips, diagrams and sketches, lavishly illustrated with instructions for this little vest in two versions.
We will print it for you and send it on its way. All you need to do is collect your yarns -- and connect up to Jane's Knit ALong starting on June 18th (I know I mentioned it already but it bears repeating -- follow the link below.)
This is going to be such a marvelous summer!
