I love how Kelly has created this wonderful gradiance set in Ling. This yarn is a perfect blending of cultivated silk (think shiny and strong) and superwash merino (think soft and with memory).
This luxury yarn combines silk with merino in a lovely lace weight yarn --- you'll find that it is shinier than Eos but not as slippery as Marici. A great melding...
Fiber Content: 50% Superwash Merino, 50% Silk. And Ling takes the dye colors beautifully.
This is a Gradiance set of four skeins, gradually changing colors. Each small skein is one ounce/ 312 yards so the total is 1248 yards of glorious fiber, ready for your latest lace creation.
The colors will gradually change from one hand painted color to the next. The gradually transitioned sets will work well to show off more complicated stitch patterns and lacework because each skein is “almost” solid. When working with Gradiance sets it is important to alternate skeins when switching from one successive skein to the next so the color change is almost seamless.
On this page is a deep and rich variation of the original Aurora Borealis colorway. This colorway is based on a marvelous picture I had found of the Northern Lights and sent on to Kelly with a "Can we?" (we show it here in the second photo). Well, Kelly played with the colors and created a wonderful medley. There are sky blues and greens which then gradually deepen into evergreen and midnight.
Yum!
