A most stunning pattern paired with a wonderful yarn -- I am thrilled!

Maddau Scarf was created by Abigail Phelps, the wonderful designer who brought us some truly amazing designs.

Here is what she writes about it:

Worked the long way this scarf creates a flutter if you wear it long or a contoured wrap if you wear it around your shoulders.

You may work either a play it safe option that allows for little or no customization or an adventurous option that allows for complete customization of length.

The original one you see here took 430 yards, so you will be able to duplicate that size, which ran about 64" long x 7" deep. And we are including in this kit well more than that! Bear in mind though, that if you would like to make yours even larger, if you email us first and we have stock, we'd be delighted to set you up with extra.

The yarn is by Araucania, called Nuble. It is 75% ExtraFine Merino, 25% Silk with approx 272 yards (250m) per 50g skein.

And the colorways are so beautiful!

You can choose two skeins that are the same or two different ones -- we purposely found colorways that make gorgeous pairings. (Sorry -- only the mixed sets are left in stock)

We will be including in each kit a total of two skeins, in the colorway(s) you choose.

These yarns are simply beautiful. Two are dyed into rich almost-solids and two became amazing variegated beauties.

The aptly named Beauty is an almost-solid color is amazingly rich and delicious --- a dark wine that almost asks to be imbibed. :-)

Cornucopia is a variegated yarn. It is a medley of wonderful colors that reflect the fruits of the earth. I see bananas and strawberries and oranges and cherries and red grapes among other hues.

Caribbean is another variegated colorway, with an amazing combination of hues that reflect a tropical sea. There is turquoise of course as well as deeper blue and some violet (shadows under the water?) and golden sunlight.

And Balanced is another almost-solid, with a deep blue-violet. This is rich and simply lovely.

Note also that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. I know some knitters prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Abbey via her Ravelry web page. Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that. We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you and generally do so right before shipping your kit).

Make your choices from the drop-down menus -- this will be a real delight!
