We offer on this web page the Silver Lined Topaz-Gold AB beads from Matsuno, this time in the 8/0 size.
We brought in three colorways of these beads in two sizes, at the request of Laura Nelkin. She recently discovered them and is using them for a lovely KAL as well as a class she is teaching. They are from the Japanese bead company called Matsuno. Matsuno is the third best-regarded bead company on the planet, right after Miyuki and Toho (which is what we usually carry). It was explained to me that one difference color-wise amongst these giants is the AB (Aurora Borealis) finish and how it is used. Miyuki uses it sparingly and thus there are hints of rainbows. Toho uses it more and thus the hints stand out more strongly. And Matsuno uses the AB finish quite a bit so that the beads is quite striking indeed.
This is the smaller 8/0 version of these rich silver lined deep topaz/golden beads with lots of AB highlights. The holes are square but not dramatically so -- a subtle squareness.
We are packaging it up in our usual container that carries about 35 grams and I assume it will also give about 40 beads to the gram (as do the Miyuki and the Toho 8/0 beads) -- you do the math and figure from there.
