Another rather simple design from Mountain Colors that allows you the opportunity to play with a stunning yarn and end up with something truly grand! This is a clever shawl with sleeves that will stay on your shoulders for a nice lacey accent.
Brooke's Lace Shawl was originally designed to be knit with a 12 ounce skein (1450 yards) of Mountain colors Wool Crepe but really any fingering weight or even lace weight yarn would work (the lace weight would of course give you a lighter and more "hole"-y piece but we are talking about a shawl here and so whatever appeals to you should be able to be made to work).
This shawl/jacket is knit in two pieces, from the armholes out, then grafted together a the center back. You will be working from charts for the lace inserts -- but fear not, these are not complex at all.
The finished piece will run roughly 42" wide x 45" long after blocking.
Great summer knitting!
