Another colorway in this wonderful new yarn from Mountain Colors.
Mountain Colors is a small business located in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. They produce multi-colored, hand dyed yarns for knitters, weavers, crocheters and other fiber artists. I first came across their yarns many many years ago and have been a big fan of the lovely hues and fibers that they create.
Winter Lace is a new yarn from them, a 50/50 blend of wool and silk. We decided to get in what they call Winter Lace Jr., which is basically smaller 50 gram skeins of 600 yards each. I thought they could be fun to mix and match with other yarns or for getting more precisely the amounts one wants for a particular project.
Some of the colorways we have brought in have all hues in one color section of the color wheel (most conducive to looking excellent in lace work); other have a true variegation.
On this page we show Ruby River which is a marvelous play on reds. There are many shades of red here, all somehow remaining red (no pink, no rose) and a touch (just a touch) of copper.
Wonderful! This is definitely a keeper.
