Oh yum.

This one really sings to me.

A marvelous new offering from Susanna IC's , is simply breathtaking.

Here is what Susanna says:

I love rain. When I was little, I could not wait for a storm to pass so I could put my rain boots on and go outside to jump in the puddles. Dew, mist, drizzle, cloudburst, torrent - even these simple words make me happy. I adore the scent of rain in the air, before and after it falls. I love the way it washes the entire world, making the ordinary seem bright and new again, decorating everything with brilliant diamonds of raindrops. Oborine, meaning ‘rainfall’, is inspired by these tiny bits of rainbow trickling down the leaves after the rain.

This shawl is my classic top-down short row crescent shawl, designed with several different options to choose from: Large, Medium or Mini size with many beads, fewer beads, or with beads placed only along the edges. The lace pattern is simple enough even for a novice lace knitter because it includes only basic stitches and the wrong side rows are all purled. There are three options for beading given, but the project will also look great without any beads. All sizes of the shawl can be worked in lace or fingering weight yarns, and the Mini can be also worked in thicker yarns, such as sport or DK, giving you even more options for customization.

What we offer in this kit is a most delicious yarn, in sufficient yardage to make up to the Medium size. If you want to make a larger size, simply contact us and if we have stock, we'll set it up with you.

The yarn we have here is from Anzula and is called Dreamy. This is not the same yarn that Susanna used in her original but it has a very similar fiber content to the one she used for her medium (green) shawl that you see here.

The yarn has 75% superwash merino/ 15% cashmere/ 10% silk -- need I say that it feels amazing? There are 385 yards (352m) per skein so one is sufficient for the medium sized shawl --- 17.5” (center depth) x 53.5” (wingspan) -- or any of the smaller ones as well.

1. Mariana is a rich and glowing teal, with slight variations of tone. (Sorry, sold out)

2. Rosebud is a wondrous pink, tonal as well, with a fantastic look and depth to it.

Each kit will have one skein of the colorway of your choice.

Plus!

Beads, lots and lots of beads.

Susanna gives you as the knitter three options for beads -- to put on a lot, to put on fewer, or to add just to the edges. The medium size thus can use between 633 and 109 size 6/0 beads and as we want to cover all choices, we will be including in the kit the larger amount. Which is a lot of beads....

They might be of a color to contrast with the yarn -- I could see silver lined crystal or silver lined crystal AB standing out beautifully, as you see in the photos of the finished shawl on this page -- or a color to blend into the yarn color more. If you have a preference, let me know; otherwise I will choose for you.

Note also that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. I know some knitters prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Susanna via her Ravelry web page. And if you would like the pattern in your Ravelry library, that is the way to go. In that case, choose "No Pattern Needed." Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the Pattern drop-down menu is set to that. We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you and generally do so right before I mail your kit).

So make sure that both drop-down menus are set as you would like before you check out.

This is amazingly lovely, for real.
