A new beauty by Dorothy Siemens of Fiddlesticks Knitting, this one really strikes my fancy.
I am going to quote our amazing designer here:
"The Peacock Feathers Stole is a stylized version of a peacock’s tail in full display, from the small feathers at the centre, or top of the peacock’s back, down to the dramatic sweep of the tail. You’ll truly be able to “strut your stuff” when you wear this stole!
"The stole is worked by casting on at the centre back, then working to one end where a crochet cast off creates a delicate, lacy finish. Then stitches are picked up at the centre back cast on and the other half is worked the same."
NOTE: Fiddlesticks Knitting patterns are charted. Recommended for Advanced Intermediate or Experienced lace knitters.
Yarn requirements: about 99 meters (990 yards) of a lace weight yarn.
The original used 2 balls Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (50% mulberry silk, 50% merino wool) each ball approx. 50 g / 500 m (note that the sample used approx. 900 m, so a careful gauge check is advised)
Approx. 22 inches wide and 78 inches long after blocking
We think this is well worth the work -- stunning!
