I gifted a good friend with the Rock Candy Bead Stew bracelet and she was shocked to learn I knit it! Will definately be giving these as gifts for the holidays. Thanks! – Dora Themelis

This is the latest in our continuing adventure with Bead Soup Bracelets.
Here was the first of our Bead Stew bracelets, where we left out all of the smaller beads and concentrated on the large, chunkier beads, with intriging shapes and finishes. Indeed, the smallest beads in all the Bead Stews are size 8/0 with a small smattering of 3.4mm drops. The majority of beads are daggers and 4x6mm drops, and 6/0 beads, as well as a few of our new 9 mm moon faces in topaz/gold inlay. The thread used is the heavier Tapestry Braid -- as there are no tiny beads, there is no difficulty using this thread and the overall result is more substantial. The clasp is the Aztec clasp that we like so much. It is of a lead-free antiqued gold color. This is a Bali-style cast toggle clasp with the ring at 17mm and the bar 20mm.
The colors here are striking! Depending on stock, we have included anything that appealed and had a golden base. You might find bronze and copper iris and matte silver lined topaz and dark topaz and gold and dark gold, as well as some gilt lined buttercup for contrast. The could be some light caramel ceylon and silver lined ambers as well as a few crystal AB drops and crystal vitrail daggers to catch the light. The end-result is stupendous -- a densely packed bracelet that looks like you are wearing Rock Candy on your wrist.
The thread color we used in the one pictured here is called Chai. It is a dark metallic brown. We also like any of the gold threads, with greenish cast (Tourmaline Gold) or rosey cast (Citrine Gold or Amber) or plain Gold or even a Green would look fantastic and give a woodland feel. Actually, this bracelet is so packed with beads that you can barely see the thread color at all except at each end. Unless you specify, we will choose for you.
For those unfamiliar with these bracelets, all of our Bead Soup bracelets are knit, using thread and a vast array of beads. The knitting needles are not included in the kit but figure on using size 0's, though gauge is simply a matter of personal preference and finding a look you like.
We are really really pleased with this one.
Notice that you have a choice of getting this kit with or without the pattern. It is the same as for other Bead Soup/Stew bracelet kits. Make sure to check the drop-down menu.
