Our knitted Bead Soup Bracelets have gone chunkier! These new versions use a slightly heavier thread (Tapestry Braid) and all of the beads are larger and most rather unique in shape and look -- none are smaller than size 8/0s and there are a great assortment of daggers and tear drops in particular.
The new name for these chunkier bracelets is compliments of Lisa Derr, who had a very bead-i-ful dream one night. We think it is a great description -- larger and chunkier -- a Stew, not a Soup, of course, of course!
This one was done in a variety of deep rich magentas and burgundies -- we put together Merlot Mix drops, Fuschisa Lined Smokey Amethyst Megatamas, Moon Faces (this one has the Topa/Gold Inlay ones), Garnet Lined Red AB 6/0 beads, Cranberry Lined 5/0 Triangles, Large Tear Drops in striped Cranberry/Agate, and some Crystal Vitrail daggers and drops. And other things I probably forgot about now. Each mix will be somewhat different.
The one pictured here (made and photographed by Lisa, as a tremendous help to us) used gold thread (though interestingly, with these Bead Stews, one sees very little of the thread showing through one the bracelet) and the gold "Aztec" clasp. We also think it would look stupendous with silver thread and the silver tone "Aztec" clasp -- same clasp design, also in a lead-free pewter, but with a silver look instead of gold. Make your choice from the drop-down menu below. If you choose the silver option, we will include silvery thread, clasp and the Crystal AB Moon Faces. The gold tone clasp gets a golden thread, clasp and the Topaz/Gold Inlay Moon Faces.
We are having a great time with these. The pattern is the same as the Bead Soup bracelets, so if you have it already, just choose the Kit only option.
It is the same simple knit -- and it gives you a bracelet that is a wonder to behold.
