Another wonderful new pattern by Jackie -- if doesn't rain but it pours!
To quote Jackie:
"As the name implies, these Stalwart Socks are designed to be extra strong and robust. A linen/merino blend yarn is recommended — the linen for strength and sturdy wearability; the merino for wearable cushioned softness.
"These socks have added features for wearing comfort by conforming to the shape of the ankle and toes. The handsome textured knit/purl diagonal block stitch pattern transitions into ribbing at back of leg for an ankle-hugging fit and the toes have left and right shaping.
Sized for women's medium (men's large). Sport or DK weight yarn, 325(400) yards. 7 stitches/inch, size US 2 / 2.75 mm needles suggested. Charted and written stitch instructions.
The photo of the pair at the bottom of the page show the distinctive right and left shaping. And the single sock presents the details of the ribbing at the back of the ankle.
A great summer project and a wonderful way to learn something new.
Wonderfully comfortable to wear and most intriguing to make.
