Fat skeins of lovely handpainted DK wool -- how could we resist? We were offered these by Fiber Trends at a remarkable discount, which we are passing on to you.
And we selected a wonderful assortment of patterns to work beautifully with these. Read on below!
Each hank of this yarn is 200 grams with a hefty 430 yards each. The colors we chose look great together -- some are all monochromatic mixes of colors and some are from different parts of the color wheel -- but they are lovely all.
These were originally "named" with numbers -- we had to put descriptive names to them instead.
Going around the photo to the upper right in a clock-wise manner (and shown again below) here are the four colorways we are offering:
The first one, upper left hand corner of the photo to the right here and the first one below, is #27 that we are calling Twilight. Each skein goes from a beautiful sky blue into deeper truer blues and into purples. A lovely blending.
Next to it, on the upper right, is color #100, that we are naming Firelight. It is a wonderfully warm mix of colors with yellows, golds, oranges, into smoky grays. I really like it.
And the colorway (#55) in the lower right hand corner has some definite similarities to Twilight but the color changes are not as pronounced. Indeed, it is almost a monochrome but there are subtle nuances of faint aquas and mostly blues into gentle purples. This one was very difficult to photograph properly -- think of it as all the colors in the Deep Blue Sea and you won't be wrong.
The colorway below Twilight and to the left of Deep Blue Sea has similarities to Firelight, but without the darker contrast hues. It is a striking mix of golds and oranges and peaches with a suggestion of lime as well. It came labeled as #104 and we named it Sunrise. Beautiful!
With these we got five patterns that will look amazing this any or these -- watch the website and we'll get them up as soon as we possibly can. Check for the Landscape Shawl, the Leaf Lace Shawl, the Shoalwater Shawl, the Feathers Shawl, and the Ruffles & Ridges.
Really spectacular.
A wonderful opportunity to play with colors -- these will bring giant smiles.
