I am so delighted to be able to offer these!
Catherine of thatBluCat has made, especially for Earth Faire, a series of shawl pins.
We have brought in two shawl pin designs at this time: the ones shown here and also a Spiral style. Both most lovely indeed.
Both of these pins are specially designed to work beautifully for shawls of lace weight and fingering weight, not weighing them down and especially will not catch on the fine work.
Cat has assured me that the two styles of pins that we chose (these and the Spirals on another web page) are intended "... for those ethereal shawls, and I promise absolutely NO snagging."
We asked her to design the colors around the seasons, with some jeweltone cool for winter, some pastel cool for summer, some warm pastels for spring and some autumnal hues for fall.
Each is made of hand sculpted polymer clay and is absolutely one-of-a-kind. The metals used are either stainless steel (with "no tarnishing and really sort of sexy" [to quote Cat again]), or red brass (warm gold colored). These are both neutral colors and look to the eye like silver and gold while remaining light weight and cost-effective. I realize it is hard to tell the metal color from the photo here -- not that much of that will show when it is on the shawl -- but if you feel you need to know, just email me and I'll give you all the details.
And so here we present the beautiful Long Stem Shawl Pins -- take a look at the first photo on this page to see the pieces that Cat made for us.
The second photo shows how they are packaged. And the third photo shows one of them next to a penny, so you have an idea of the overall size.
The first photo is the one you should use to make your choice. I have simply given them letter names: the top row being K, L, M, N, and O; the bottom row is P, Q, R, S, and T.
Make your selection from the drop-down menu -- apologies that they don't appear there in alphabetical order; somehow the computer program has an order of its own. As they sell out they will be marked as "out of stock" or simply disappear from the drop-down menu. Supplies are very limited right now -- but I'd love to bring in more. So here's hoping these appeal to you as much as they do to me.
