A wonderful design by Jackie E-S of HeartStrings Fiber Arts, this Simple Beaded Wristlets and Sock-Not cuffs pattern is a favorite of ours and perfect for gift-giving or just playing around for yourself.
Easy and fast to make, these cuffs can be worn on your wrists as mitts, pulse warmers or bracelets, and on ankles as a dress-up over plain socks. A single cuff even makes a chic holder around your water bottle, serves as an eye-catching coffee cup cozy, or as a dress-up to any other place that begs to be cuddled by yarn and glint of beads.
The garter stitch fabric in these beaded cuffs is stretchy and can accommodate a range of sizes.
Adult medium, 75 - 100 yards fingering weight yarn per pair, 7½ stitches/inch over garter stitch, size US 1 - 2 / 2.25 - 2.75 mm needles suggested, size 8/0 seed beads.
All you need is less than one skein of fingering weight yarn and a container of 8/0 beads. It is a wonderful way to play with color combinations and a special yarn that has caught your eye -- these are a delight.
a marvelous way to create great beauty, warmth.
These make a great gift to warm up the coldest person -- they have been used for centuries in the northern climes for just this purpose. I have a friend who is "always cold" -- but not since I made her a pair of these. She is in awe at how much of a difference it makes and wears hers almost constantly.
Warm up with style -- and pass on your love.
A very simple project that yields spectacular results.
