Inspiration comes in many forms.  And in this case it was two birds building a nest and singing their songs to their young ones.

I wanted to offer a special necklace as a tribute to the coming season, and so here we present Song to Summer.

The necklace design itself might be familiar to some who have been Earth Faire-ians for a while, as quite similar to Dragon Wisdom.  For this kit we offer silk thread, in 30 yard hanks, in your choice of either a light green (as shown here) or a deep green, a light marine blue, a cobalt, or a black.

Whatever your thread choice, your kit will also include approximately 120 of 3x10mm daggers plus roughly 40 grams of size 6/0 beads, about 120 size 4mm fire polish crystals, and the focal piece you see here of a very sweet blue bird.

This focal piece is paper print wrapped wood pendant (of course finished for stability and longevity).  It is a flat square,  blue-green, of 38x38x2mm in size.

All of the daggers, crystals, and beads will be chosen to "go" with the thread color of your choice.

Your kit will also include a clasp and the appropriate rings to attach the focal piece. It will not include the knitting needles -- I used size 0 (2mm) for mine.

The finished necklace is about 42" long though you can, of course, make it shorter.

The kit will not automatically include the pattern.

We offer three options. I know some knitters might already have made some of our other necklaces with a similar look. If you feel you do not need another pattern, simply choose "No Pattern Needed."

If you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that.

We also can email the pattern to you via email, though I have to do it manually and usually send it right before I mail the kit (please be patient).

Just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.
