Sometimes written as 4/0, these 0000 double-pointed needles are sold in packages of 5. The metric size of these needles is 1.25 mm. And, an idea-- if you want to turn two into single points, just glue a wondrous bead to the top. That could look beautiful -- you'd be creating a work of art with a work of art. Or, more prosaically, what I often do is use a piece of dry sponge as a top "stopper."
Note (May 8, 2006): the latest shipment of these needles are marked as Made in Mexico and some still say Inox but some now have the new name Prym. They look exactly the same to my eye and feel the same to my hand. And the packaging is virtually identical. Just wanted to mention...
