We are so very glad to be able to offer these most interesting Wonderful Wimples in the exact yarn and colors as chosen by Dorothy Siemens, the amazing designer.
Here is how she describes them:
"Wimples are such versatile garments! Wear them around the neck as a scarf or cowl, or pull them up as a hood to keep the ears and head warm. These lacy wimples add beauty to functionality.
"Each wimple is worked in the round from the bottom edge to the top, with two strands of lace weight yarn held together."
The pattern includes all three designs, and all are recommended for Intermediate lace knitters."

Each wimple requires approximately 760 meters single strand of Exquisite, the 50/50 silk/merino lace weight yarn form Fiddlesticks Knitting.
The needles suggested are 3.5mm (US 4) or the size to give in stockinette a gauge of 24 stitches to about 4".
We have gotten in the three colorways that Dorothy chose for the wimples as you see them here.
The Wisteria one is on the far left of the first photo to the right and again shown below it. If you click on it, you will see the shape of it as it looks laying flat. This one features a bottom edging design adapted from Estonian shawls, a delicate lace and texture pattern through the body, and a pretty picot cast off at the top to frame the face when worn.
The Antique Gold wimple, shown in the middle on the first photo above and in the second photo below that one, features a flared peplum to drape gracefully around the shoulders, with a lovely eyelet lace body and a delicate picot edge at the top to frame the face. If you click on it, you will see the shape of it as it looks laying flat.
And the last photo, in Aloe Mist shows the same one you see to the far right in the first photo. That wimple begins with a pretty lace edging which becomes a graceful vine-like lace through the body and finishes with a picot edge to frame the face. If you click on it, you will see the shape of it as it looks laying flat.
Each kit will contain one copy of the pattern plus two skeins of Exquisite, enough to make your choice of one of these beautiful Wimples. Make sure you set the drop-down menu to the color that you would like before you check out.
