This one is catch-your-breath gorgeous!
By Marnie MacLean, and featured in this Twist Collective e-zine, we present here some kits (yarn + beads) for Aello.
Make sure to get your pattern either from this Ravelry page or from the Twist Collective directly.
Here is what is written:
This semi-circular shawl is worked from the border up to the center back neck. The lace patterns are given in chart form only. This shawl can be worked with or without beads.
What is needed is lace weight yarn, about 1085 yards (992 m) to knit a wingspan of Wingspan: 65" / 165 cm.
The photos here of Marnie's original shawl are shown with her permission (© Marnie).
Kit A: The yarn we offer here is not the same as what Marnie used in her original but it is absolutely delicious. From Shibui Knits, this is their Lunar, 60% extrafine merino/ 40% silk with 401 yards (365m) per 50g skein.
So three skeins make up each kit, giving you 1203 yards in total.
The colorway we have here is Graphite, a rich deep steel grey (a grey with a touch of blue to it).
(Sorry, sold out)
Kit B: Again a lovely though different yarn, this is Findley, a lace weight 50% merino/ 50% silk yarn, and quite delicious indeed! Each ball has 795 yards/ 100g .
The colorway is called Buckwheat and is a soft and gentle taupe.
As there are more yards per ball in this yarn, a Kit B will include 2 balls and total 1590 yards.
Now, yes, the beads are optional but they add so much. So each kit will also include 72 6/0 glass seed beads, the quality ones from Miyuki or Toho.
If you have a preference for bead color, tell me. Otherwise I will choose for you.
