I am absolutely thrilled to be able to offer a kit for this gorgeous shawl! A combination of a striking pattern, a delicious yarn, and glowing beads makes for a wonderful knitting project for sure for sure.

Big smiles here.

The Design

The designer, Kristina Vilimaite, describes it thusly:

While knitting the shawl you will follow the growth of lilies of the valley from underground towards the sky.

The knitting starts with just a few stitches and soon you “plant” bulbs that give life to the blooms. You may add some beads when knitting flowers to glitter as dew drops. After you knit enough of plants, the Sun starts rising and sets the lilies of the valley aglow.

The shawl is a slightly asymmetric triangle worked sideways in one piece. The pattern is designed for one skein of fingering or lace weight yarn to get petite or regular sizes and can be easily customised.

The Yarn

This beautiful shawl can be knit in either lace weight or fingering weight yarn.

Bear in mind that this is not the same yarn as Kristina used in her original piece. You can see the yarn we offer in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that. The other pictures are here to show you the design (© Kristina Vilimaite / Natália Hubay-Németh).

The golden shawls shown in the last 2 photos on this page were knit by Wool4Willow and used with her permission. She used a heavier yarn and I show these here simply because it shows the design so well.

Take a look at the Projects pages here to get a good idea of how different yarns and colorways look with this design.

Our kits are composed of one skein of Alma, from Manos Del Uruguay.  This could be classified as a heavy lace weight or a light fingering weight.  With about 546 yds / 500m per 3.5 oz / 100g  and of 100% merino, it is truly delicious and can lend itself to this design beautifully.

We offer four colorways to choose from.  Two are solid (or almost-solid) colors that will show the stitch work and beads beautifully.  Two are more of a variegated colorway and again, the Project pages show quite a few beauties made with variegated yarns.  It is truly "knitter's choice."

Courage is an almost-solid of rich deep fuchsia.

Devotion is also an almost-solid, a dark teal. (Sorry, sold out)

Kindness has a cream base with some streaks and splatters of deep red-violet and fuchsia, as well as blues and teals.  (The photo shows the base color as close to a pale blue; truly it is closer to cream.)

Fairness is more variegated, a colorway that includes soft lilac, sage green, wheat, amber, and peach (and likely a few more in-between). (Sorry, sold out)

The Beads

The design calls for 198 beads for the fingering version or 258 beads for the lace version.  As this yarn is kind of in the middle, we will give you the larger number.

I like the look of 6/0 beads in this design as they are larger and more dramatic.  That is what we will include.  If you would prefer the smaller and more subtle 8/0s, let me know and I'll give you those instead.

Each of our kits will include 25g (roughly 300) size 6/0 beads.

Kristina used Miyuki size 8/0 for her lace weight one, of a color that looks like tiny pearls.

There are so very many colors of beads that will look superb! If you have a preference, let me know. Otherwise I will choose for you.

The Pattern

The instructions for this lovely shawl are both written and charted.

The kit does not automatically include the pattern nor has its cost been included.

I highly recommend getting the pattern directly from Kristina via her Ravelry web page. This will ensure that you get any future updates and also it is saved in your Ravelry library.  In that case, set the Pattern drop-down menu to "No Pattern Needed."

Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, please make sure the drop-down menu is set to that. It is 13 pages.

We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you and generally do that right before shipping your kit).

Please make sure that both drop-down menus are set as you would like before you check out.
