We are bringing in some more of Jane Thornley's wonderful "free range" knitting patterns. This is onethat is really fun.

To quote Jane:

Looking for something to spice up basic black? Here, shades of translucent, buttery, amber contrast with the mysterious deep onyx hue to create this sophisticated wrap knit with bands of seed among rows of simple yarnover lace. The effect is airy yet substantial with a back panel threaded with ribbon to create yet another dimension. Optional amber dangles anchor the wraps two ‘wings’.

Besides being knit across the piece in some places, the ribbon is threaded through the yarnover stitches in the back for added pizazz. Elegant enough for a ball, this wrap could carry you through the holiday season by perking up that black ensemble or, tossed over jeans and a tee, sail you anywhere any time.

As with all of Jane's patterns, you can use practically any yarn to knit this design. You can use those wonderful skeins hidden in your stash that you simply couldn't resist and build around them or go on a foraging expedition for glorious fibers to inspire you. Jane tells you what she used ifyou want to duplicate exactly or simply duplicate closely or explains how to spread your wings and create something absolutely your own.

Choose between a hard copy (printed and mailed) or a PDF via the drop-down menu above.

This is truly a fun and glorious creation.
