This is one of the Be Mine collection from RosyPosy Designs' Rose Beck. And it has such a wonderful simple silhouette and great look -- I couldn't resist.

Here is what Rose writes about it:

"The fourth shawl of the Be Mine collection, a set of floral-inspired shawlettes designed to be both simple and sweet.

"A textured body and trim pleated border give this shawlette a lovely vintage took. The narrow crescent shape is worked top-down and achieved with rapid increasing at each edge, allowing you to choose your final size as you knit. This shawl has several unusual stitches and is more challenging than the previous 3 shawls in the collection, but the result is well worth it."

The photos show the shawl as done in heavy fingering/sport weight yarn, but any weight yarn may be used (adjust yardage accordingly). The size is easily adjusted by changing the size of the body.

Skill level: Intermediate.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS 52 (58; 64) inches wide x 12 (13; 14) inches deep

All that you need are 420 (500; 600) yds heavy fingering or sport-weight yarn. I haven't seen this done in a variegated yarn but any of the solids or almost-solids will look really good. And it seems to me that a tone-on-tone would also add a wonderful look.

We periodically put up kits with this beauty but in the meantime, just go over to our Fingering Yarn section and see if you can find one that sings to you.

The last photo shows one that I made using JojoLand's Melody in Blue Dreams . It was lovely to knit -- took about three balls and I love the look.

A great way to create your own personal valentine.
