Yarn and Colorways
We have chosen to offer a fingering weight yarn for knitting this which is actually one of the options Anna Victoria mentions on the pattern itself.
This is not the same yarn as what she used for her original. You can see it in the inset photo on the upper lefthand corner of the top picture and then again below it.
Our yarn is called Zauber Flower and is a delicious cake of 100% Superwash Merino Wool from Patagonia with 656 yards (600m) per 150 grams.
The testers of this pattern used between 365m and 1890m so this will work nicely. If you decide you would like a larger piece than this will knit, I suggest you get two kits. .
The colorway is called Alles Paletti (in English this translates to Everything Alright) and is a beautiful gradient changing from greens into teal into blue into purples.
(The starting color varies on each cake --you can see this in the photo. Each cake will give you the full range of the colorway but may start at a different hue.)
Anna Victoria says that 1,234 beads were used for the version with 3 lace charts though various testers used varying numbers. Some used significantly more (check out this one).
So I am going to give you an option. The kit will "default" to three containers of size 6/0 beads, or about 1,260 size 6/0 beads. (In other words, that is what this kit is set up to give you, no additions required.)
If you want more, you will see that you can so choose via the drop-down menu labeled "Kits."
These containers hold about 35g of beads. And for size 6/0 there are about 12 beads per gram. So that's how the math works. Each additional 35g of beads will give you roughly 420 more beads.
If you have a preference on bead color, let me know. Otherwise I will choose for you.
