A new and wonderful scarf design from Laura Nelkin, with optional beads.

Here is how Laura describes it: " Aventina is a sumptuous scarf, oversized so that you may wrap it around yourself more than once and still have fabric to hang down.

"Aventina is worked in two halves and grafted at the middle. Beads are placed onto double decreases with a crochet hook or dental floss."

This is really lovely.

The finished measurements are 13 inches wide x 72 inches long after blocking. It uses one skein of Schaefer Yarn's Audrey or another fingering weight yarn -- you need about 700 yards. If you choose to add beads, you will want 552 of the 6/0 beads or equivalent (the 4mm megatamas can work well here as well) -- that's about 46 grams. It is good to get extras in case of spillage or simply some misshapen ones along the way.

If you would like our help picking out beads to glow with your yarn, just email us -- we love to help.

Laura also has tutorials for both the Kitchener Stitch and for placing beads -- follow the link below to see.

The instructions are both written out and charted -- your choice.

Beautiful!
