A wonderful design from Catie! These practical yet lovely accessories will keep you warm and looking good as well.
Just a handful of beads and the look becomes luxurious!
The Neck Cozy is constructed using mitered squares and a ribbed turtleneck collar. It can be layered inside the neckline of a coat, blazer, or jacket -- or show it off and wear it on the outside or even just over a sweater for indoor comfort.
The Ribbed Hat keeps your ears and head comfy and warm. It is knit in a simple rib pattern with a complex looking (and very easy) decrease design.
The yarn used originally was Louet Gems Merino in Worsted Weight -- but any worsted will do. The Neck Cozy used 210 yards, the hat 140.
The beads you see in the picture are 4x4 cubes, which fit on this yarn very well -- it took 96 for the Hat and 277 for the Neck Cozy. Any beads that will fit on the yarn will look great -- I can think of some lovely looks!
You will want one container of beads to match your yarn -- take a look at the 6/0s, 5/0 triangles, 4x4 cubes, 4mm and 5mm megatamas -- all will look amazing.
New! Take a look at the great photos below of this wonderful design done using Shibui Merino Kid and some of the new sharp 5/0 triangles from Miyuki. Really a great option.
This is a fun design to make -- rather unique in many respects. A fun kit and fun to wear as well.
