A lovely new creation, this one started its life as the October 2009 Sock of the Month for Woolgirl.

And now it is here and available to all. Laura wrote of her inspiration:

"Robert Frost’s poem Birches was the inspiration for both the yarn color and the stitch for this sock. The stitch is a cascade of tiny birch leaves, accented with either nupps or beads on the cuff."

Yum!

The sock is knit from the toe up. Three sizes are offered, and the pattern includes both charted and written stitch instructions.

Using fingering weight yarn, the beads are added using the crochet hook method. You will want for the small size 70 beads of the 8/0 size, for the medium, 80 beads and for the large 90 beads.

Needles: US 1 (2.25 mm), or size required for gauge.

Crochet hooks: US 13 (.85 mm), or size to fit through bead.

Gauge: 8 sts to 1 inch (2.5 cm) in stockinette in the round.

A really fun pair!
