This one is really striking.
By Alla Borisova, Bird of Happiness is half circle shawl knitted top down.
Get your pattern directly from Alla on her Ravlery page here. This kit is intended to give you beautiful yarn and beads only. (Note that this pattern is charted.)
Alla knitted her original piece with a laceweight yarn. We offer it here in Eos, from The Unique Sheep, a delicious 50/50 Merino & Tussah Silk with each set consisting of four skeinettes of yarn, specially dyed to run gradually from one color into the next to create a wonderful flow of Gradiance.
The total yardage you will have is 315 x 4 = 1260 yards, which should give you more than you need for this beauty.
We have three colorway to offer for this kit:
1. Pixie Dust is a gentle color progression from strawberry into kiwi into honeydew and then teal. Lovely.
2. Old Rock Wall is a pastel beauty that goes from a very gentle and subtle pink into lilac into blue into green. A wonderful glowing whole.
3. Black Day Lily is a colorway from TUS that we don't normally carry. It has golden apricot into rwaspberry into purples. Truly yummy!
Not everyone who knit this used beads but a few knitters did -- take a look at these projects.
The pattern suggests quite a few points at which to place beads. Unfortunately, the designer doesn't specify how many beads are needed and those knitters who added beads used different amounts.
Our kits will include about 35g of size 8/0 beads (roughly 1,400 beads) which should give you plenty. If you have an idea of what color beads you want, let me know. Otherwise I will choose for you.
Alas, I am afraid we don't have any feathers to offer! :-)
