Garnet, the birthstone for January.
The word Garnet derives from the 14th century where "gernet" meant a deep red color. It is derived from the Latin word granatum, which means seed in this instance the seed of a pomegranate. And indeed, small garnets look like the bright red seeds you find inside in a pomegranate.
Garnets are also considered a spiritual stone of higher thinking and self-empowerment, it is also a stone of strength and safety.
Typically a deep red gem, this goes with just about any type of jewelry.
Our January Birthstone Bracelet uses nuggets of garnet with 8/0 and 6/0 beads in mixes of various tones of silver, on a silver thread. It is knit in a simple twisted bangle and finished with a small silver-plated magnetic clasp.
Simple and quite gorgeous indeed.
If you would prefer to use gold as your background color instead of silver, simply let us know via the Comments section as you check out. Gold + Garnet is also a lovely combination, very rich indeed.
The pattern is not automatically part of this kit. We used basically the same pattern as the one for our Birthstone Bracelet of May.
If you feel you do not need another pattern, simply choose "No Pattern Needed" option on the Pattern drop-down menu under the top photo.
If you would like a printed copy, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that.
We also can email the pattern to you, though I have to do it manually and usually send it right before I mail the kit (please be patient). Just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.
