Ode to November!

Here is the newest of our  Birthstone Bracelet series

November has two gems as its birthstone; Citrine and Topaz.  Topaz is most recognized in its rich orange topaz color though it can range in color from colorless, blue, champagne, yellow, orange, red and pink.

As a birthstone, this gem is said to provide balance to emotions can help promote a harmonious lifestyle.

In ancient Egypt the yellow variety of Topaz was thought to be a representation of the Sun God Ra because of the intense fiery color and was felt to protect and to heal. .

Legend says that topaz dispels enchantment.

We were able to find for our bracelets a few "real" topaz, pale lemon yellow in color, 4mm in size in a faceted saucer shape.

To round out the bracelet, we added crystals and beads: from Miyuki a mix of 8/0s and 6/0s in deep topaz tones as well as lemons and yellows + 4mm, 6mm, and 8mm fire polish crystals in varying hues of lemon, topaz, crystal marea, and yellow.

I also added a few (a very few) 8/0 beads in Silver Lined Amethyst, just to add an intriguing contrast.

Randomly threaded onto 34 gauge lemon wire, this bracelet was knit and then finished with a very simple heart-shaped lobster clasp.

Your kit will include the wire (either 32 gauge or 34 gauge; both will work well), many more beads and crystals than needed, and the clasp as you see it here.

If you would like any changes for your own personal kit (perhaps a different color wire, or maybe a different clasp?), contact me and if at all possible we will set you up.  I love the idea of customizing.....

(A note:  the holes in the 4mm topazes are quite small.  The wire will fit; it just requires good light and a bit of patience.)

Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern.

We offer three options.

This is essentially our Bead Soup/ Bead Stew Bracelet design, except that it is knit with wire.

I know many of you have already have made other bracelets from us along very similar lines. If you feel you do not need another pattern, simply choose "No Pattern Needed" using the drop-down menu under the top photo on this page.

I have written up the pattern including some slight adjustments and recommendations for knitting with wire.

If you would like a printed copy of the pattern, please make sure the "Pattern" drop-down menu is set to that.

We also can email the pattern to you, though I have to do it manually and usually send it right before I mail the kit (please be patient). Again, just make sure that drop-down menu is set as you would like before you check out.
