Another amazing design by the designer Kieran Foley, Black Forest Ruffles uses a dark main colorway and a lighter contrasting conolrway to create a piece with awesome visual interest.
Please be sure to get your pattern from the designer on his Ravelry page here or alternatively you can get the pattern from Kieran's website here.
What we have put together is the exact yarn in the exact colorways that he used to knit his sample.
The cost of the pattern has not been factored in to the kit.
Kieran desribes this as a decorative scarf or shawl pattern with a feathery motif in stranded knitting.
This could be considered a "cousin" of his Black Forest Brioche but there is no brioche involved. Techniques include stranded knitting, centered double and quadruple increases, and a two colored double increase.
This is a charted pattern with concise notes and instructions.
Yarn and Colorways
The yarn is Zauberball Crazy (75% wool + 25% nylon with 459 yards (420 meters) per 100g ball), with long color runs in each of its plies to give a very intriguing look.
We brought in the exact two colorways that Kieran used in the sample you see here.
1.Zimtschnecke (Cinnamon Bun, in English) is the darker colorway. It is really rich and velvety with black and purple, violet and deep amber as the main colors I see.
2. Tapetenwechsel (translates as Change of Scenery) is lighter in overall tone. The main colors I see are gold, red, rose, magenta, turquoise, teal and pink.
Our kits will give you one ball of each. Kieran writes that one balll of each should allow you to do 6 repeats of the chart,or roughly 58" (147cm) long x 16" (41cm). If you would like a larger scarf/wrap then get two kits.
