This is the third of a number of kits we have put together for knitting some of the strikingly lovely brioche designs by Anja Sammon.

This one is intended for her Brioche Endless Tree Hat.

Please get your pattern directly from the designer either on her Ravelry page here or on her website here.

What we have put together are yarns that we think would look gorgeous with this pattern.

The Design

Here is what Anja writes about this scarf:

This Brioche hat matches my “Endless Tree” scarf and comes in sizes s, m and l.

It is reversible, but if you like to add a pompom I have added instructions on how to create the pompom I have attached to the illustrated purple hat. The pattern includes Brioche left and right decreases, 2-stitch Brioche increases, and a simple knit and purl rib along the edge. The fabric is worked in the flat and the edges are joined after completion.

The hat weighs approx. 30g and can be knitted in 2 variegated yarns like here, or in any combination of DK yarns.

Yarn and Colorways

We do not offer the exact yarn that Anja used for her original.  You can see our offering in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.

Our kit contains one each of these as described below. The colorways are quite different than the ones Anja used in her original hat.  We chose these as rather "tree-like."

Our kits consist of one skein of

A: From Freia yarns, this is a sport weight yarn, a cake of 100% wool with 217 yards (200m) per 75g ball. This colorway is called Canyon.  It runs from a dusty pine green into a turquoise into a fiery orange into deeper rust and finally into a rich bark brown. (Or as you can see from the photograph which shows two ot them, it might run vice versa, depending on how it is wound.)

B: Our contrast yarn is Sand Bank dyed on Arroyo from Malabrigo, 100% superwash merino with 335 yards (306m)/ 100g skein.   This colorway is an almost-solid in subtle variations of sepia, a light hue in the brown family.

One skein of each makes up each kit.
