A most lovely and unique design by Laura Nelkin, this Brisa Shrug can be a wonderful knit!Laura writes, "Throw this dressy little number on over a simple dress to warm you on a cool summer night. Beads float gently at the top of eyelets, adding a bit of "bling", though you can easily not use beads and still have a great lacy topper."
Using Schaefer's great fingering weight yarn Heather, with its 55% merino superwash/ for softness and memory, 30% silk for shine and 15% nylon for added strength, this only requires one skein for the smallest size and two for either of the larger sizes.
The three finished sizes are thus:
Sleeve length to split for back: 12 (13.25, 14.5( inches
Body (across back): 16 (17.25, 18.5) inches
Sleeve circumference: 10 (10, 12) inches
You will want 990 of the size 6/0 beads for the smaller size, 1102 for the medium and 1478 for the largest.
This one looks like great fun to make and a lovely garment to wear. Take a look at the second photo below to see how the beads add their glory to the mix.
What a lovely piece!
