This is just drop-dead-gorgeous!

A wonderful new beaded shawl design, by a new (to us) designer whom I think we'll be seeing a lot more of soon! On this page we present the pattern with a special bead gift

This beauty is called Bubbles and Baubles and was created by Tori Gurbisz.

Here is how she describes it:

"A lacy crescent-shaped shawlette knit in a luminous merino/silk blend yarn. Beads shimmer along the edges of lace bubbles, perfect for special occasions or adding a little sparkle to your every day wardrobe.

"Multiple size and edging options allow you to customize this shawlette based upon your personal preferences and help you get the most out of your yarn and/or beads. There is also an option for a plain stockinette body, that omits the top three “bubbles.”

"This shawl is worked from the top down. It begins with a garter stitch tab using a provisional cast on. This pattern has both written and charted instructions."

Tori rates the Skill Level here as adventurous intermediate to advanced.

This page offers the pattern in hard-copy. It will be printed out for you on heavy weight paper and slid into a sheet protector.

You will want at least 530 yards of a fingering weight yarn -- the original used a blend of 50/50 silk and merino but any that appeals to you will do.

Tori also used size 6/0 glass seed beads approx. 24 grams (there is a beaded edging option which would require substantially more beads; she recommends 45 grams in that case).

For adding the beads, you will need a steel crochet hook, .9mm or thinner ( available elsewhere on the website -- email me if you have trouble finding it).
