We just had to bring more of these in for you! Gorgeous colors, intriguing knit, and a fast enough project so that you can still add it to your gift-giving queue!
The Butterfly Cowl is a design by Marin Melchior that is just so lovely and such fun to knit.
Please plan to get the pattern via the designer's Ravelry page here. What we offer here are kits of yarn only, specially chosen to work with this design.
Basically this piece uses the same techniques as her stunning Butterfly/ Papillion Shawl.
Here is what Marin writes:
An “over the head” cowl pattern with a classic “V” shape…
This is a little sampler of the Butterfly/Papillon Shawl pattern.
It was created to make a beautiful little piece
and dip your toes into the techniques of a larger project.
it is designed to be a fun, wearable piece of art.
The Yarn and Colorways
These kits use the same base yarn that Marin used -- Uneek Fingering --- though in a different colorway. We chose a bright and happy mix of hues and decided to frame the colors in a dramatic black.
You can see the yarn we offer in the lower righthand corner of the top photo and again below that.
This kit will include one skein of each yarn (described below) and will give you well more than you need to make this sweet cowl -- actually, you will likely have enough to make two!
Uneek Fingering is a long color run yarn of 100% superwash merino and with 435 yards (400m) per 100g skein.
The colorway we brought in is #3010 and is a bring song of summer flowers --- I see fuchsia, green, turquoise, amber, gold, and violet (and there are likely a few I missed).
The contrast black is from Araucania and is their Nuble, a 75%wool/ 25% silk, with 272 yards (250m) per 50g skein. It is called Pitch and is actually an almost-solid as it has some intriguing variations of tones.
