I love this one!

Designed by Natalia Moreva, Comet is a most intriguing knit -- it will keep your interest as it guides you around and around.

Nataliz knit her original one using one skein of an almost-solid (Madelintosh Tosh Merino Light) plus one skein of a long-color-run yarn (she used Lang Yarn Jawoll Magic Degrade).

Well, we have put together kits using different yarns but we are delighted with the look and think you will be too!  You can see what we have here in the inset photos on the top picture and again below that.

Get your copy of the pattern from Natalia's Ravelry page here. This web page is for the yarn only.

Here is what Natalia writes about this great wrap:

Comet is an asymmetrical shawl with long & sharp edges. It’s knit primarily with simple garter stitch spiced up with some short rows and central decreases/increases.

Yarn and Colorways

Again I quote Natalia:

You will need fingering-weight yarn, approximately 110g /450 meters total. I cannot tell exactly how much yarn of each color I used; but I would say I definitely used more of a gradient yarn than white.

Here is what we put together for our kits:

1.  For the solid color, we have the new yarn from Kelbourne Woolens called Andorra.  This is a 60% merino wool/ 20% highland wool/ 20% mohair yarn with 185 yards/ 50 gram skein.

2.  For the color-run yarn we are including sets of five "skeinettes" from Anzula.  The yarn is called Squishy with 80% superwash merino wool/ 10% cashmere/ 10% nylon.   The five small skeins each have roughly 67 yards for about 335 yards total.

Note that as Natalia couldn't break down the yardage further, we are just making sure there is enough total in this kit -- you might need to blend one of these small skeinettes into the next in a "fade" type manner as you knit, particularly as you get to the sections where the color stretch is longer.

(Kit A has sold out, sorry.)

Kit B uses a cream Andorra (named Snow White) as its base.  The Squishy Skeinettes are a gradiently changing set of blues (mostly) called Knitting in the Rain, which includes Nimbus, Seabreeze, Lapis, Storm, and Charcoal.

Each of these kits will have two skeins of Andorra (185 x 2 = 370 yards) and one set of the Squishy Skeinettes (335 yards).
