A beautiful new yarn from HiKoo, one of the Skacel family of yarns. This is Concentric and it is gorgeous.
Made up of 100% Baby Alpaca, each cake has 437 yards per 200 grams. It is classified as a worsted weight yarn.
Two free patterns have been released, specifically designed to be knit with one cake of this yarn and I found one other on Ravelry that is gorgeous and uses this yarn (not free though).
Please get your patterns via Ravelry using the links below. This web page offers the yarn only.
By Chuck Wilmesher, Concentrially Twisted is a mobeius cowl, and here I quote him:
This Moebius cowl will fly off your needles as the pattern is super-easy to memorize, and the color changing yarn will keep you interested throughout!
The second free cowl I found is the Concentric Chevron Cowl (by the same designer) and (to quote again): This stunning cowl is the perfect design to show off the gradual color changing feature of HiKoo® Concentric! Just one ball will make this beautiful piece and the pattern will soon stick in your head so you can bring it with you to knit on the go!
And if you'd like, the Lotus Poncho by Lynette Meek is another using one disk of this lovely yarn. She writes:
Designed to cover the shoulders and upper arms and show off some of the gorgeous gradients and hand-dyed yarns that we are constantly tempted by!
The Poncho is knit in the round and works from the bottom up. The lace pattern creates an interesting edge and switches quickly to stockinette for some pleasurable, relaxed knitting. The garter stitch finish at the neck keeps it tidy and allows for easy finishing and blocking.
We brought in three colorways for you to choose from.
Shades of Gray is just that -- it begins (or ends) with a white and moves into a pale gray, a deeper gray, a charcoal.
Pastel Pop does a gradual run from teal into gray into blue into pink.
Trixie is a gentle gray into pink into charcoal into red.
All of these are lovely! Make your selection and the yarn will be on its way to you soonest!
