Only one kit left.
From Nim Teasdale , this design is a real beauty. Plus! The pattern for Corazona has not only been expanded recently, it is also on sale here.
So a great pattern, a beautiful yarn, and a sale on the pattern -- that is pretty awesome, don't you think?
Read on for details....
Here is what Nim writes:
Corazona is a radiating lace shawl with a hint of texture to add depth. It uses a top down semicircular expanding wedge construction that can be adjusted to include extra wedges.
The size of the shawl can be adjusted in several ways - made smaller by skipping some rows and/or using the early ending, or made larger by adding an extra wedge.
The design suits lace to fingering yarn, in solid, semi-solid, gradient or subtle speckle varieties
The Yarn and Colorway
We offer a different yarn than what Nim originally knit her piece in. You can see ours in the inset photo on the top picture and again below that.
Our yarn is Paradigm from Trendsetter, with each cake of 95% Merino, 5% Poly Metallic and gives 660 yards + or - per 150g. The metallic threads are soft and silver in tone.
1. One colorway we chose for this beautiful shawl is called Golden Flowers and runs from a deep goldenrod into a lilac into a wisteria into a red-violet and fuchsia.
(Sorry, sold out.)
2. The second one is much softer, a pastel beauty called Peach Pie. Here is cream blending gradually into pink into rose and finally a soft milky coffee.
Now Nim suggests 547 - 1094 yards (500 - 1000 m) for this piece, depending on how large you wish to make it -- and she gives directions for five different ending points.
The one cake of Paradigm in each kit will give you a shawl that is roughly the size of the one you see her wearing in the photos on this page. If you would like to make a larger one, go for more than one. :-)
Nim didn't add beads to this beauty and you might feel that the subtle silver threads in the yarn are bling enough.
Or you might want to add beads -- your choice if/ when/ where.
We added that option to the drop-down menu labeled "Kits." If you choose beads, you'll get a 20g container of size 6/0 beads or roughly 240 beads.
If you have a preference on bead color tell me via the Comments section as you check out. Otherwise I will choose for you.
I just noticed that Nim is setting up what looks to be a wonderful MKAL called Evoluta, to start September 1st. This kit would work beautifully for that as well, though you might want more beads -- per her webpage, up to 904 instead of the 240 we are including as an option for this kit.
If you decide that is the way you'd like to go, please contact me and I'll set you up with the additional beads.
Note that the kit will not automatically include the pattern. The price of the pattern has not been factored into the cost you see here.
I know some knitters prefer to get it directly as a PDF file of the pattern from Nim via her Ravelry web page. And as we mentioned above, she is offering it for sale there (though I don't know for how long). So if you decide to go that route, make sure the drop-down menu is set to "No Pattern Needed."
Alternatively, if you would like a printed copy, then the "Pattern" drop-down menu should be set to that.
We also can email the pattern to you via email (just be aware that it is not automatic; I have to manually send it to you and usually do that right before I ship the kit).
If you want the pattern in your Ravelry library then please get it directly from Nim as noted above.
